CiRCLETECH at the EMANES Annual Conference in Barcelona

The EMANES Annual Conference was held in Barcelona, at the impressive Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau, from 10 to 12 December 2025. The annual event provides a forum for researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers to discuss key issues related to socio-economic development and regional integration by selecting high-quality, policy-relevant, cutting-edge research and recognized keynote speakers for the programme.

Selmecbánya–Miskolc 290: Traditions That Connect Generations

The University of Miskolc this year celebrated the 290th anniversary of Selmecbánya’s mining and forestry education—the intellectual and cultural foundation of our institution. The commemorative event brought together university leaders, distinguished researchers, industrial partners, and representatives of the broader Selmec community to honour the enduring legacy that continues to shape the spirit and professionalism of our university.

CIRCLETECH Industry Impact Day at the University of Miskolc

The CiRCLETECH project, the University of Miskolc, in collaboration with InnoME TTC Ltd., proudly hosted the CIRCLETECH Industry Impact Day on 2 December 2025 at the University Library-Archive-Museum building (KLM). The event offered a unique platform where academic research and industrial innovation meet to drive forward circular-economy solutions.

RElight ME – E-waste in a New Light

The University of Miskolc, through its Institute for Raw Material Preparation and Environmental Processing, organized an interactive exhibition and educational programme under the title “RElight ME – E-waste in a New Light”, held on 24–25 November as part of the European Waste Reduction Week.

CiRCLETECH at EU Raw Materials Week 2025

CiRCLETECH was represented at the EU Raw Materials Week 2025 in Brussels, the European Commission’s flagship forum on raw materials policy, innovation, and sustainability. A project poster was showcased throughout the event’s main breaks, providing continuous visibility and facilitating discussions with stakeholders from academia, industry, and international organisations.

5th Research Management Professional Day

On 14 October, the University of Public Service hosted the 5th Research Management Professional Day, organized by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH / NRDIO) and NCP Hungary – Horizon Europe. Colleagues from the University of Miskolc Grant and Project Coordination Center participated in this event.

“Prove your idea’s worth!”– Regional Round of the Innovation Olympiad

For the first time in the history of the National Scientific and Innovation Olympiad, a regional selection event was held in Northern Hungary. Alongside the Hungarian Association for Innovation, the University of Miskolc served as the co-organizer and host of the event.

Collaborative research gap identification workshop in Lillafüred

We closed the year 2024 with a successful Collaborative Research Gap Identification Workshop on 17-18 December in Lillafüred (Miskolc), where researchers from the University of Miskolc, TU Delft and LUT University addressed the challenges and possible solutions for a sustainable circular economy and established new, promising fruitful collaborations.
