A new publication from our researchers
A new CiRCLETECH scientific paper entitled ”Influence of feedstock composition on the adsorptive properties of RDF-based activated carbon” has been published.
Mineral-based CO₂ sequestration offers a permanent and safe way to store CO₂ by forming stable carbonates through reactions with calcium or magnesium-bearing materials. In a recent study, fly ash from Visonta (Northern Hungary) was mechanically activated and carbonated using a planetary ball mill under wet conditions.

“The conference series has a 62-year history. This is the second time it’s being held in Hungary, and the first time in Miskolc. Crushing and classification may not sound familiar, but they actually form the foundation of our lives. Life without materials is unimaginable, and we extract these materials from the earth, the Earth’s crust, or more recently, from secondary raw materials. That’s why the field of crushing and classification is so important,” said Prof. Dr. József Faitli, President of the 18th European Symposium on Comminution and Classification and professor at the Institute of Raw Material Preparation and Environmental Technology at the University of Miskolc.
He added that the University of Miskolc earned the right to host the symposium thanks to its unique master’s program in Process Engineering for Raw Material Production—offered nowhere else in Hungary.
