Project
CiRCLETECH Project in a nutshell
The CiRCLETECH Project is a twinning partnership to deliver enhanced networking for circular technological and socio-economic impact, raising research excellence, and strengthening management capacity, a joint initiative of the University of Miskolc (UM, Hungary), Technische Universiteit Delft (TUDelft, The Netherlands) and Lappeenranta–Lahti University of Technology (LUT University, Finland) in the field of circular technologies.
The primary aim is to raise the scientific excellence of the University of Miskolc with the support of leading partner institutions in the field of circular technologies to form a long-lasting research hub across Northern Hungary. The creation of the research hub on sustainable circular economy, CiRCLETECH Hub will provide the basis for future cooperation and operation of a regional centre of excellence creating a meaningful impact on the regional and national level on the circular economy, but also on involvement in Horizon Europe.
The cooperation in joint research coupled with capacity-building activities will help the involvement of the University of Miskolc jointly with its partners in European research in the field of Sustainable Circular Economy and attract EU funds and talent to the region, connecting it to European Research Area (ERA). CiRCLETECH will help the development of scientific excellence and research management capacities by:
- Building cooperation between the partners for knowledge transfer and sharing best practices
- Addressing major European research challenges in the field of Sustainable Circular Economy to launch new research initiatives
- Overcoming barriers to participation in Horizon Europe and international cooperation of the University of Miskolc through improved research excellence
- Increasing the scientific visibility of University of Miskolc in collaboration with TU Delft and LUT University
- Establishing the CiRCLETECH HUB to foster long-term research cooperation among the partners and the industry
Our activities
- Connecting researchers in circular economy.
- Intensive collaborative activities for identifying research gaps and research ideation
- Elaborating solutions for real uptake of technological innovations in industrial material flows
- Bridging scientists in the four research domains: Urban and waste mining, material recycling, Processing technologies in waste recycling, Sustainable energy transition – just transition, Circular design and manufacturing
- Cooperating in the frame of multidisciplinary research teams – publications, projects, mobilities
- Supporting research management with various capacity building activities
Towards Sustainable Solutions
