The growing list of companies and institutions collaborating with the University of Miskolc continues to expand. On Monday, the university signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Unicranes and Logistics Ltd., a key player in the logistics sector. The signing ceremony took place in the university’s Selmec Hall.
During the event, speakers highlighted that the partnership aims to strengthen the practical training programmes offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, while also supporting the joint planning of educational activities, research and development, and innovation tasks.
“This will be a joint market presence between the university and Unicranes, which is still quite uncommon in Hungary. By leveraging the university’s academic expertise, we can work on projects where we deliver world-class equipment for highly demanding tasks,”said Csaba Ujhelyi, Managing Director of Unicranes and Logistics Ltd., in an interview with Miskolc Ma, the news programme of Miskolc Television.
As part of the collaboration, the university will take an active role not only in practical training but also in technological development and innovation projects, added Péter Szűcs, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Science at the University of Miskolc.
“We are planning for future-proof education and research in the coming years, and this can only be achieved through cooperation with companies and industrial partners. Today’s agreement will contribute to raising the quality of education and strengthening the link between theory and practice,” he emphasized.
It was also noted at the ceremony that logistics and industrial digitalisation are among the priority focus areas in the University of Miskolc’s upcoming five-year strategy. The new strategic partnership will significantly reinforce these directions. The cooperation is expected to enhance practical training for students, expand research projects, and promote technological innovation.
